Lovely small and unique hotel with a hospitable staff and an English bar.

Lovely historic accommodation with amazing setting right by Wanaka or the zoo that is Queenstown and garden area and bar area. New-fashioned and romantic rooms with open bathrooms.

Wi-Fi was very poor.

Had a lovely evening enjoying an amazing steak dinner and chilling by the cozy fire pit outside. The garden area was perfect for relaxing, and the jacuzzi was a delightful touch for winding down. Just a heads up, the service at the bar was a bit off, but it didn't overshadow our overall great experience! 😊

Charming Retreat with a Cozy Vibe

Our group enjoyed a good last night in NZ here. The lounge's cozy fire created the perfect atmosphere for unwinding. Celebrating a birthday in the restaurant was a highlight. The food dazzled both in taste and presentation. Pro tip, be ready for a lovely garden retreat!

The character of the Cardrona Hotel really stands out. The room was cozy and warm. The location is perfect for accessing ski resorts, attracting a fun crowd. The bar atmosphere is very laid back, great. Breakfast scones were a highlight-light, fluffy, and delicious. A small issue arose with the staff at the pub. They seemed eager to leave and pushed us to finish up early in the evening. This left a cloud over an otherwise pleasant experience. I found the ambiance good, and the garden area charming. I'd recommend it, but I hope they can improve their service at the pub.

The cozy room was so romantic! We loved the hot tub after a long day in the snow. Just wish the staff's check-in timing was a bit smoother. Great stay 😊

Perfect end to our trip!

We stayed for one night and it was the best decision to end our trip here. The historical charm of the place, along with the lovely gardens and inviting atmosphere. The food was really good, especially the dinner we enjoyed in the cozy dining area. I do suggest getting there early for dinner reservations, as it gets quite busy.

The rooms were cozy and well-heated. The location is perfect for skiing. Breakfast scones were good. The atmosphere around the bar is very relaxing 😊

Oh, those fresh cream cakes were a delight at the restaurant! Plus, the cozy atmosphere created by the roaring fire made our evenings super inviting. The gardens around the hotel were spotlessly maintained too. Loved it!

We did experience some noise issues from nearby staff, a bit uncomfortable. The rudeness didn't help either. And the water had a strange taste-still, the vibe kept us smiling!

The noise from the entrance was a bit bothersome at times!!! I expected better bathroom amenities and more attention to room care. The layout is confusing and could use clearer signage!!!

The hot tub was a good surprise, and the garden view from our room was charming. We especially loved the cozy atmosphere by the fire pits in the evening where we relaxed with our drinks. A definite highlight was the Beef Wellington at dinner, hands down the best we've ever had!

Families looking for unique charm

We stopped for a meal and the atmosphere was just something else, it's like stepping back into the gold rush days. The food, I mean the seafood chowder, was a hit after waiting a bit, but it was totally worth it when I finally got it, though I had to eat it on my lap.

It wasn't exactly cheap, but for what we got, it's still acceptable.

The staff at the hotel were dedicated and knowledgeable. the restaurant had a very nice family-friendly atmosphere and served delicious dishes. - the room was brand-new and nicely decorated. - the location of the hotel was beautifully remote.

We had a great time at a lovely spot with a nearby pub, beautiful gardens, a peaceful atmosphere, and delicious food.
